Анотація
This paper analyses how minimum wage changes in Ireland and Bulgaria from 2010 to 2024 are connected to their youth unemployment. Using data from Eurostat and the World Bank, simple linear regressions were conducted to see whether higher minimum wages correlate to higher or lower youth unemployment rates. The results show a strong negative relationship in both countries, meaning that youth unemployment usually fell when minimum wages increased. However, the analysis also shows that overall economic growth and external shocks like the COVID-19 pandemic had a much stronger influence on youth unemployment than the minimum wage alone.
